James Floyd Dailey, 82 years old, formerly of Hillsboro, entered into rest on February 22, 2012 in the Missouri Veterans Home, Cape Girardeau. He was an auto mechanic for Coleman-Taylor Transmissions; he liked working on old cars, and like reading about military history. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Born in Crystal Springs, Arkansas on October 22, 1929; the son of the late Olen and Minnie (Scott) Dailey.

Survived by nieces and nephews: Larry (Teresa) Shepherd of Festus, Jerry (Carol) Shepherd of Hillsboro, Dale (Diane) Shepherd of Festus, Beverly Meremonte of Kansas City, MO, Darlene Shepherd of Hillsboro, Carla Dailey of Portland, OR, Sherri Thomas of Portland, OR, and Olen (Melba)Dalton of Hot Springs, AR. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurman Shepherd and Kenneth Dailey; a sister, Florence Dalton; a niece, Phyllis Mitchell and a nephew, Billy Shepherd.

Rev. Jim Owens will officiate the funeral service.
