John Andrew Garner, age 60, of Hillsboro, MO, entered into rest on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his residence. Born on September 15, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Paul L. Garner of Sunset Hills, MO and the late Shirley M. (Smith) Garner.
In addition to his father, he is survived by the beloved mother of his children: Susan E. Garner of Belleville, IL, sons: Paul (Janie) Garner of Hillsboro, MO, Chad (Jessica Berry) Cochran of St Louis, MO and Cole (Mindy) Cochran of Spanish Lake, MO, daughter: Alison (Benito Yates) Garner of Belleville, IL, grandchildren: Kaleb Selock, Kaley Smith, Ian Garner, Morgan Cochran, Cameron Cochran, Aidden Garner, Mackenzie Cochran and Conner Cochran, brother: Bruce Garner of Jackson, MO, and sisters: Paula (Lynn) Schenimann of Jackson, MO, Donna Littrell of High Ridge, MO and Laura Hawkins of Poplar Bluff, MO. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandson: Alexander Springsteen.
He worked in commercial refrigeration for Courtois Mechanical. He served his country as a bronze star veteran for the United States Army and was a recipient of a purple heart. He was a member and Adjutant of the Amvets Post #42 of Herculaneum, an Amvets Rider, a member of the VFW Post,#1831 of DeSoto and the American Legion Post #253 of Festus. He loved riding his Harley, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
