Henry D. Skiles, 93 (formerly of Sunrise Lake) entered into rest at The Villa's on August 21, 2012. Mr. Skiles worked in construction and had served in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Hall 119, VFW Post 1831 and the First Baptist Church of DeSoto. Born October 19, 1918 in Potosi; he was the son of the late Edward S. and Julia Anna (Hicks) Skiles.
Survived by three sons: Henry E (Charlotte) Skiles of DeSoto, Bob (Margaret) Skiles of North Carolina and Jim (Brenda) Skiles of Cadet; two daughters: Linda (Willis) Allen of Hillsboro and Betty (Donald) Missey of Cadet; a brother, John Smith of Steelville, MO ; a sister, Margaret Boyer of Farmington; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma (Clark) Skiles and his second wife, Marie C. (Anderson) Skiles; a son, Gary Skiles, a daughter, Bonnie Lohman; two brothers: Ted Skiles, Granville Skiles; and two sisters: Maxine Waeltz and Myrtle Smith.
Reverend Gene Moses will be officiating the service.
