Mabel Hurt Salisbury, 96, of DeSoto entered into rest on October 3, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Crystal City. Mrs. Salisbury loved gospel music, cooking and her flower gardens. She was a sales clerk for Johns Pipe Shop in Clayton for 14 years. Born on February 12, 1917 in Ellington, MO; she was the daughter of the late William R and Lulu (nee Berryman) Spangler.

Surviving family members are her daughter, Cindy Johnson of Texas, a daughter-in-law, Bertha Guffy-Hurt of Piedmont, MO, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Carlton E. Hurt, her second husband, Daniel S. Salisbury, a son, Carl D. Hurt, daughter, Maxie Jean Murray, three brothers, Earl Spangler, Owen Spangler and Robert Spangler, and four sisters, Mary Heine, Dorothy Gray, Blanche Runge and Ruby Templeton.

Brother Bob Thebeau will be officiating.
