Mark Curtis Richardson, 72, of DeSoto entered into rest on October 3, 2014 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson. Mr. Richardson was known to his family and friends as "Cookie". He retired as a railroad diesel mechanic from ConRail. Mr. Richardson served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Born October 19, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas; he was the son of the late John V. and Hope A. (Nee Shippy) Heffernan.
Surviving family members are his two daughters, Shannon M. Richardson of Lebanon, MO and Kathleen A. Richardson-Westmoreland of DeSoto; a sister, Julie Heffernan-Carter of Prescott, AZ; Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly A. Richardson.
Cookie had many hobbies: he was a Chef at the Yacht Clubs, he enjoyed boating, riding his Harley, RV Camping. He would rebuild classic cars and boats and would race them, too. He was a member of Teamsters Union.
Burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.
