George Earle Sigler, Jr., 87, of DeSoto entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at H.C. Watkin Hospital in Quitman, Mississippi. George was a retired school teacher of the DeSoto School District. He belonged to the First Baptist Church of DeSoto where he served as a Deacon of the church. He was a member of the Missouri Teachers Association and a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed camping. George served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Born on Friday, September 21, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama to the late George E. and Unah Elizabeth (Nee Coffin) Sigler, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Loretta (Nee Frey) Sigler. Mr. Sigler was the dear father of David B. Sigler of Atlanta, Georgia and Elizabeth L. (husband, David) Coler of Nome, Alaska and dear grandfather of Tate and Maya Coler; dear uncle of Ann, Dawn, Tonya and Rhonda Loreman. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Sigler-Loreman and Marianna Sigler. Reverend Jeremy Muniz will be officiating the funeral service. He will be interred with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
