Walter W. "Wally" Schmidt, 63, of Festus entered into eternal rest at Mercy Jefferson Hospital on Friday, February 26, 2016. Wally was a supervisor for Chock Full of Nuts-Coffee Company. He enjoyed attending meetings at the American Legion Post of Festus. He was a member of the Hot Rods-NHRA. He liked going to Riverside Salvage Yard and loved his dog, Maddie. Wally was born June 24, 1952 in St. Louis to the late William E. and Jeanette (Nee Hatchard) Schmidt.
Surviving family members are his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley (Nee Floyd) Schmidt; three dear daughters: Tricia Siener of Wentzville, MO, Gracie Williams of Festus, and Jennifer (husband, Christopher) Kahl of Dow, Illinois; seven dear grandchildren: Nicholas, Amber, Storm, Nautica, Keily, Kyle and Logan; a
dear brother, William (wife, Dianna) Schmidt of Ste. Genevieve; and a dear sister, Jackie (husband, Herman) Heinrichs of St. Louis; his dear brothers and sister-in-laws: Dannie (wife, Glenda) Floyd, David (wife, Marcia) Green, and Danny (wife, Michelle) Parnell.
Also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Weberling and brother-in-law, Steve Floyd.
Deacon Raymond Powers will be officiating the funeral service.
