Rose A. Byers, 85, of DeSoto entered into eternal rest at Crystal Oaks Residential Care Center on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Rose was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, was Past President of Columbia Annes and a 4th Degree Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering and loved raising her family. Born on May 20, 1930 in Washington County, Barytes, Missouri to the late Juyel and Stella (Nee Pashia) Whitter. Her loving husband, L. Earl Byers preceded her in death May of 2014.
Surviving family members are two sons, Danny (wife, Mary) Byers of DeSoto and Barry (wife, Cheryl) Byers of Washington, MO; three daughters, Rose Ann (husband, Lindell) Cole, Beverly (husband Joe) Seyfarth of DeSoto, and Christy (husband, Chris) Amsden of Festus; a brother, Paul (wife, Jean) Whitter of DeSoto; two sisters, Jane Owens of California and Barb (husband, Dick) Lewis of DeSoto three brother in laws, Don Byers, Jim Tidwell and Byron Byers all of DeSoto; ten grandchildren, Robin (Rick Kime) Cole of Festus, Gregg (wife, Elizabeth) Cole of Columbia, IL, Tonya Seyfarth of Festus, Tammie (husband, Bill) Yates of DeSoto, Tiffany (husband, Josh) Yates also of DeSoto, Lauren (husband, Brian) Skaggs of Villa Ridge, MO, Nicholas Byers and Benjamin Byers of Washington, MO, Ryan (wife, Raquel) Amsden of Festus, PFC US Marine Corp Jacob (Fiancee, Kaylee Blankenship) Amsden of Festus and Mollie and Becca Amsden also of Festus; fourteen great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Chase Cole of Festus, Lucas, Gavin and Trevor Cole of Columbia, IL, Aaron and Lydia Dean of Festus, Tyler, Kenzie and Natalie Yates, Joselynn, Chloe and Barret Yates all of DeSoto and Liam Skaggs of Villa Ridge, MO. Special friends, Mary "Pete" Gideon and Marge Randoll.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer "Dale" Whitter and John Whitter; two sisters, Ruby M. Byers and Donna J. Tidwell and a brother in law, Virgil Owens.
Special services by Deacon Ed Boyer and the Daughters of Isabella on Sunday evening. Father Alexander Anderson will be officiating the funeral Mass.
