Norma Jean (Yates) Micke, age 81, of DeSoto, entered into rest on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in St. Louis. Norma was born on March 6, 1935 in Fertile, Missouri to the late William & Sara (Nee Dearing) Yates. She worked as an equipment operator for Sunline Candy Company until she retired. She was a member of the VFW #1831 and the Amvets Post #48 Ladies Auxiliary. She served many positions, State President of the Auxiliary Amvets, Auxiliary President for VFW and Amvets. She was very good at cross word puzzles and enjoyed reading, bowling, playing horseshoes and loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 59 years, Albert J. Micke of DeSoto, sons; Albert "Kevin" (wife Tammy) Micke of Arnold and Alan Joseph (Wife, Jeanne) Micke of Barnhart, Grandchildren; Lauren (Dennis) Long, Justin (Alexandria) Micke, Jeffrey (Fiance, Brittany Slayton) Micke, Aaron (Torie) Micke, and Tyler Micke, Great-Grandchildren; Conner and Hudson Long, brother, Gerald Yates of DeSoto and sister, Betty Labbee of DeSoto.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Chester, Charles, Lawrence and Thurlow Yates, and a sister, Anna Belle Coleman.
A Mass will be officiated by Fr. Alexander Anderson.
