Jessie Mae Whitener, age 79, of House Springs (formerly of Imperial) entered into rest Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus. She was a homemaker and volunteered at Jefferson County Food Pantry; she enjoyed crocheting, dancing and collecting angels. Born February 25, 1937, in St Louis, MO, to the late George and Gella (Evans) Baker. Survived by her loving family which includes sons: Harvey (Linda) Massey of House Springs, MO and Kenneth (Chris) Hodo of Seattle, WA; daughter: Gella (Dan) Stewart of Oregon; brother: Rodney (Barbara) Baker of Festus, MO; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by former husbands: Hubert E. Massey and Earl T. Whitener; son: George Massey; daughter: Tina Mae Lammert; brothers: Edward Baker and Thomas Baker; and sisters: Frances Ard and Billie Jean Bowen.
Reverend Jim Owens will officiate the service.
