Obituary
Robert Gary Watson Sr. entered this world on May 10, 1948 in St Louis, MO. to Robert Jack and Helen Geraldine Watson. He departed his earthly home for his eternal home in Heaven on September 13, 2017.

Robert married Jo Marie (Cook) Watson on December 27, 1968 in Osceola, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father: Robert Jack Watson; grandfather: James Robert Watson; grandmother: Carrie (Brackin) Watson; grandfather: Artie Baker; grandmother: Daphne (Webb) Baker; and grandmother: Daisy Baker.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Jo Marie (Cook) Watson; son: Thomas "Skip" (Kelly) Watson of Summerville SC; son: Robert Gary (Stacey) Watson, Jr of St. Louis MO; daughter: Carrie Watson of Summerville SC; mother: Helen Geraldine Watson of Potosi MO; brother: Danny Wayne Watson of Festus, MO; brother: Timmy Ray (Terri) Watson of Florissant MO; sister: Terri Watson (Mills)of Potosi MO; brothers: David Jerry Watson of Loxley, AL, Scotti Dixon of Loxley AL, and Danny Jack Dixon of Loxley AL; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews which he adored.

He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, the Helicopter Combat Division HML-167 from 1968-1972 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After serving in the Marine Corps, he worked as a Machinist Union Local #9. He then moved on to become a self-employed truck driver in the steel industry for over 28 years before retiring in 2011. During his retirement he continued part time work as a parts delivery driver for O'Reilly's Auto Parts Store.

In addition to work he loved his weekend fun driving race cars on the dirt track for over 20 years and was a beloved member of the racing community. He also enjoyed heading up the Veterans Ministry in Summerville, SC which was very close to his heart. Robert was a member of the Radiant Life Church of Festus MO and later became a member of the Summerville Family Worship Center.

Robert (Gary) Watson will be sorely missed by his wife Jo Marie and family.

He is gone but will NEVER be forgotten!
