Doris June (Vance) Lewis Mahn died peacefully on March 29, 2019. She generously shared every year of her life with those she loved which extended far beyond her immediate family. Doris was a young WWII bride and had her first two children with her husband, Roy Lee Lewis. She also became a young widow and remarried two years later to Edward James Mahn who she loved until his passing in 1975. She had two sons with Ed who was a devoted father of all four the children he reared with Doris. Doris lived in the same home on Miller Hill through her adult life and enjoyed hearing hourly bells that rang from the church across the street.

Doris was devoted to her family and community and was an important mother figure to all of the generations of her children, and many of the children in her neighborhood. She influenced multiple generations as she cared for and taught them the value of frugality, the simple pleasure of playing card games and the joyful sounds of the music classics which she loved to sing throughout her days. In her heart and home, all were welcome.

Born February 7, 1925 in Doyle, Tennessee to the late Jasper and Zenobia (Norris) Vance. Doris had been a homemaker and also worked many years as the St Louis Post Dispatch Distributor.
