Obituary
Kathleen (Kay) Rutledge Burks was born July 6, 1946 to Ralph Willard (Harry) and Artamissa (Elsie) Holland Rutledge at Birch Tree Missouri, where she attended school, She worked at factories most of her life and passed away surrounded by those she loved most on May 8, 2019. She was united in marriage to Jimmie Edward Burks, Sr on April 14, 1967. To that union two sons were born Jimmie Edward Burks, Jr (Jim Ed) and Jeremy Shaun Burks. She was blessed with her granddaughter Jenna Michelle Burks in 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Elsie, brothers Willard Rutledge, Glen Rutledge, William (Bill) Rutledge, sisters, Lena Lucille Rutledge (infant), Edna (Mel) Touhill, and Luella Humphrey, nephews Cletus McCurry, Tim Rutledge, Heath Rutledge, and two infant nephews; nieces Heather Rutledge Sexton and Carla Rutledge

Kay leaves behind her husband Jim Burks, sons Jim Ed Burks and Jeremy Burks, granddaughter Jenna Burks, sister Jane Sanchez and husband Fred, Ethel (Glen) Rutledge, Patricia (Willard) Rutledge and Don (Luella) Humphrey, and a host of other family members

Kay was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star. She left an impact on so many people and will be dearly missed. She devoted so much of her time to her granddaughter Jenna whom she loved dearly. Some of her favorite things were listening to her sing and play basketball. She also really enjoyed picking blackberries and visiting with friends in town. She took pride in being a hard worker. She was very generous and free hearted; she would give you anything she had if you needed it. She attended the Assembly of God church.
