| Memorials/Donations Memorials of desired, may be made to Alzheimers Association, 9370 Olive Blvd, St Louis, MO 63132-3258 Obituary Dora Helen (Sansoucie) Backer, of Arnold, Missouri, formerly of DeSoto, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the age of 90 years. She was born on December 19, 1928 at Valles Mines, Missouri, daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Mary M. (Courtway) Sansoucie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Backer, four brothers, Johnnie Sansoucie, Ernest Sansoucie, Christopher Sansoucie, and Willis “Red” Sansoucie, and two sisters, Rose Smith, and Sadie Mae Ketchum. For 35 years Dora was an Independent Avon Representative and during that time she became a member of the Avon President’s Club. She was a long-time and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Arnold, the Ladies Auxiliary of Pope John XXIII Knights of Columbus Council 6018 and a former long- time member of the Silver Haired Legislators for the MEAAA. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching TV, spending time with family and friends and playing with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including two sons, Doug (Vicky) Backer of DeSoto and Steve (Cindy) Backer of High Ridge, a daughter, Christine (Paul) Terry of Arnold, five grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Deisner, Jen Backer (Tom Moehlmann), Paul W. Backer, Riley and Alexis; 2 great-grandchildren, Burke and Griffin and numerous other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors. Father Scott Jones will officiate the service. | |
