Obituary
Ronald John Williams of DeSoto, passed away Friday, April 22, 2020 at his home at the age of 81 years. He was born on June 29, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Marvin John and Mary Ellen (McGillicuddy) Williams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Williams and a grandson Jonathan Miller.

Ronald was a retired Machinist-Mechanic having worked many years for Nestle Foods. He was a member of the St. Louis, District 9 Chapter of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union, the Overland Moose Lodge 1948 & Chapter 821 and the First Baptist Church of Afton, Missouri. Locally he attended the First Christian Church of Festus. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting and “treasure hunting” but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Freda Joan (Ketchum) Williams of DeSoto, three sons, Darren and wife Pamela Williams of DeSoto, Mickual and wife Shelly Miller of Terre Du Lac, and Thomas and wife Michelle Miller of DeSoto, a daughter Karen Cunningham of Troy, Illinois, brother-in-law Eddie Ketchum of Poplar Bluff, two sisters-in-law, Sherry K. Ketchum of Lemay and Elsie Williams of Hillsboro, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

There are no immediate services planned at this time. The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be in the Hematite Methodist Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Mahn Funeral Home of DeSoto.
