Lee Frederick Deul of DeSoto passed away on Friday, December 17, 2020 at his residence at the age of 90 years. He was born on August 5, 1930 at Waterloo, Illinois son of the late Fred L. and Hulda (Goeddel) Duel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Kevin Deul.
Lee was a proud U S Army Veteran and served his country honorably during the Korean War and was a retired Nuclear Fuel Production Engineer. He was a man of many talents and enjoyed “tinkering”, taking care of his yard and home, woodworking, and being “Mr. Fix It” for his family and friends.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Verna M. (Hemmer) Deul of DeSoto, daughter Karen Yost of St. Louis, brother Morris Deul of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two grandchildren, Andy and Tyler Yost, and one great-grandson John Joseph Yost. He will also be remembered by a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Per Lee’s request, there will be no formal services. He will be laid to rest with honors at Jefferson Barracks national Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials, if desired, may be made to any charity of the donor’s choosing. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto, Missouri.
