Memorials/Donations The Timothy Bradford House c/o Enterprise Bank & Trust 121 Jefferson Square DeSoto, MO 63020 Obituary Mabel Estelle Harness of DeSoto, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Villas Care Center in DeSoto at the age of 92 years. She was born on November 20, 1928 at Desloge, Missouri the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Delia Phillipine (Ratty) Nash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glen L. Harness, sons U.S. Army Specialist Phillip Doebert and Lester Voyles, brothers Orville Nash, Wyman Nash, and Grover Nash, and sisters Alma Hamby, Reva Spangler, Ethel Laird, and Mary Rayoum. Mabel worked many years at the DeSoto Shoe factory and also at the North End Tavern. She was also a homemaker and throughout her life she took great pride in caring for her family whom she loved dearly. She was a member of the DeSoto VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, spending time outdoors and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her daughter, Elaine (Ron) Simmons of Desoto, son Larry (Pat) Doebert of DeSoto, grandsons, Benjamin (Tracy) Simmons of DeSoto, Joshua Simmons of DeSoto, Andi (Jennifer) Simmons, and Larry Gene Doebert of Sikeston. Four great-grandchildren, Kayla (Gabriel) Simmons of Wichita, Kansas, Brittany (Brendan) Simmons of DeSoto, Colton Simmons of DeSoto, and Olivia Simmons of DeSoto, sister-in-law Faye Nash of Winona, Missouri, as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at the Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at DeSoto. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to The Timothy Bradford House, c/o Enterprise Bank & Trust, 121 Jefferson Square, DeSoto, MO 63020.
