Obituary
Orlan Fay Hardgrave, 96, of Festus, Missouri, passed away, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Mercy Jefferson, Festus, Missouri. He was born October 22, 1924 in Coal Hill, Arkansas, to the late Cade Lewis and Lou Ellen (McMillian) Hardgrave.

Orlan worked as an equipment operator for Laclede Gas until his retirement. He was an active member in the DeSoto Masonic Lodge #119, the Jefferson Memorial VFW Post 3777, and the Jefferson County Squares Dance Club, he has been square dancing since 1973. In his spare time, he enjoyed, bird watching, woodworking, telling stories, bluegrass music, fishing, turkey hunting, traveling, spending time at Current River, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was a member of Herculaneum United Methodist Church, Herculaneum, Missouri.

On January 29, 1950, in Ellington, Missouri he was united in marriage to Clara Imogene Phelps and to this union they had two children. They shared 71 years of marriage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Clara Imogene Hardgrave of Festus, , son, Roy Dale (Jane) Hardgrave of Festus, daughter, Deanna Lynn Hardgrave of Columbia, Illinois, grandchildren, Brian(Nicole) Vinyard, Kevin (Sarah) Vinyard, Carmen Vinyard, Raechel (Geoff) Ingrum, Bryan Webb, and Abby (Mark) Click, great grandchildren, Lily, Elijah, Ezekiel, Malachi, Samuel, Isaac, Olivia, Audrey, Levi, Josiah, Lukas, Zachary, Christian, Thomas, Marcus, Brandon, Kyle, Hunter, and Gabriella, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Orlan was preceded in death by his siblings, Willia Woods, Loren Hardgrave, Girthel Hardgrave, Hester Crawford, Loraine Walker, and Aldene Hardgrave, and granddaughter, Emily Marie Webb.

Services will be held at Mahn Funeral Home Twin City Chapel, Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 am with Wayne Roderman officiating.

Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Friends will be received at Mahn Twin City Chapel, Festus, Missouri, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 4:00 pm 8:00 pm.

There will be a Masonic Funeral Rites Service for Orlan at 6:00 pm, the night of the visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahn Funeral Home Twin City Chapel, Festus, Missouri.
