Obituary
Bessie Mae Minehart of Hillsboro, formerly of Granite City, Illinois, passed from this life on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her sonís residence in Hillsboro surrounded by her family. Bessie was born on November 4, 1932 at Fisk, Missouri the daughter the late Howard William and Mildred I. (Gillihan) Sanderson. In addition to her parents Bessie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leslie Gale Minehart and a brother Don Sanderson.

Bessie was a proud homemaker and enjoyed caring for her husband, son and grandchildren. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Granite City, Illinois and enjoyed reading and following St. Louis Cardinals Baseball.

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her son, Richard and wife Mary Minehart of Hillsboro, Missouri, two sisters, Betty McBroom of Barnhart and Wanda Norden of Broseley, Missouri, a brother, Glenn and wife Melba Sanderson of Farmington, Kentucky, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, Missouri. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm on Saturday in the Mahn Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Mark McMullin officiating. Interment will be conducted privately at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Bessieís family requests memorials be made to either Mercy Hospice or by donation to your local food pantry.
