Obituary
Billy E. Lay, 79, Hillsboro; passed away at his home on February 28, 2009. He was born February 7, 1930 in Clinton, Arkansas; he was the son of the late Bill S. and Lillie (nee Barker) Lay. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary (Cole) Lay.

Mr. Lay is survived by 2 sons: Allen Lay and Stanley (Sally) Lay of Hillsboro, Missouri; 3 daughters: Janet (Larry) Mendenhall, Fenton, Missouri, Pamela (Dennis) Caine, Hillsboro, Missouri, and Laura (Daniel) Otten, Imperial, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: James (Gloria) Lay, Dallas, Texas, Daniel (Brenda) Lay, Piedmont, Missouri, Jerry (Donna) Lay, Lakewood, Washington, and Kenneth (Wanda) Lay, Georgia; and 6 sisters: Charlene Farmer, Henderson, Colorado, Dorothy (Slim) McMillen, Granby, Missouri, Margaret Lay, Charleston, Indiana, Violet Guthrie, Sikeston, Missouri, Norma Smith, Kansas, and Glenda Birdsong, Oregon.

Mr. Lay was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; 2 daughters: Debbie and Annette; 2 brothers: Lonnie Lay and Donnie Lay; and 2 sisters: Delores Bush and Mary Couch.

Mr. Lay was a laborer for Scott Lee Guttering in Fenton and had worked for Inland Container for 30 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army. He was a member of the River of Life Church in Hillsboro. He enjoyed gardening, fixing lawn mowers, and fishing.

Funeral services will be officiated by Brother Frank Hoffman.
