Monica "Mona" Reando, of DeSoto passed away at her home Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 29 days. She was born July 24, 1932 in Cadet to the late Alfred E. and Marcella (Torrence) Portell. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Walter "Wally" Reando of DeSoto.

Mrs. Reando was a lifetime member of DeSoto VFW Post 1831 Women's Auxillary, lifetime member of DeSoto Amvets Post #48 Ladies Auxillay, Elks Lodge #689 Ladies Auxillary and military order of Cootie Pulp Tent #9 Auxillary Past President. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of DeSoto and was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband she is also survived by two sons: George Robart of Affton and Donald (Dina) Lucas of Arnold; five grandchildren: Dustin, Todd, Dillon, Hannah and Kaylee; 3 great-grandchildren: Chastity, Emily and Connar; and one sister: Theresa (Donald) Bourbon of Potosi. She was preceded in death by her parents, previous husbands: Everett Robart and Ivan Lucas; a daughter Peggy Robart, five brothers: Bernard Portell, Andrew Portell, Adrian Portell, Nelson Portell and Floyd Portell; two sisters: Daphnea Skaggs and Edith Mitchell.

Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Jan Reimers.
