Obituary
Mrs. Virginia M. Coleman, of DeSoto passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Baisch Nursing Center in DeSoto. She was 86 years, 3 months and 20 days. Born May 17, 1923 in House Springs, Missouri; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Kuhn) Schmitt. Her loving husband, Nelson J. Coleman Sr. preceded her in death.

Mrs. Coleman was the loving mother of Nelson (Bonnie) Coleman, Jr. of Hartselle, Arkansas, Dennis (Glenda) Coleman, DeSoto, Edward (Betty) Coleman of Union, David (Mary) Coleman of Florissant, JoAnn (Paul) Boyer of Fenton, Carolyn (Harry) Dean of Imperial, Jean (Rick) Barton of DeSoto, Sandy (Donnie Miller) Coleman of Cedar Hill, and Terri (Tony) Canania of Imperial; dear sister of Elmer (Claudia) Schmitt of DeSoto; beloved grandmother of 20 grandchildren and beloved great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two daughters: Margaret Coleman and Barbara Coleman; four brothers: Arthur Schmitt, Quintin Schmitt, Raymond Schmitt and Walter Schmitt; and three sisters: Helen Briehan, Ruth Klittich and Alice Daniels.

Mrs. Coleman was a cutter for the DeSoto Shoe Factory; a member of the Columbia Ann's and Daughters of Isabella and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Deacon Ed Boyer will officiate a devotional prayer service on Wednesday, around 6PM and Father Alex Anderson will officiate at Mass on Thursday morning.

Mrs. Coleman's sister, Ruth Klittich passed away and her visitation will be at Hofffmeister, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Sept. 10, 2009 from 4PM to 9PM with a funeral service on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at 12PM, burial will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
