Ruth "Bernice" (Batchelor) Woodson, 83, of Marys Home, MO (formerly of Crystal City) entered into rest Sunday, September 6, 2009 at St Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. She retired from Jefferson Regional Medical Center after 25 years service. She was a member of Church of Christ and VFW Auxiliary 3777. Born August 6, 1926, in DeSoto, MO, to the late George M. and Ruth (Scott) Batchelor.

She is survived by a son, David (Debbie) Woodson of Festus, MO; stepson, James Earl (Sharon)Woodson, Sr of Granite City, IL; daughters: Sondra (June) Kempker of Marys Home, MO, Lora McDonald of Nashville, TN and Vicky Rhives of Mitchell, IL; brother, Richard Batchelor of Festus, MO; sisters: Helen Geiler of Farmington, MO and Isabella "Mary" (Bob) Fairchild of St Louis, MO; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William "Peck" Woodson; son, George "Butch" Woodson; brother, George "Jr" Woodson; a grandson; and 2 great grandaughters.

She lived a full life which included riding a 3 wheel bike, a canoe trip (that included snakes), riding "Fire In The Hole" roller coaster, rode a Harley, a white stallion, flew in an airplane, enjoyed a trip to the Flea Market in Texas. She will be remembered for many memories including her passion for kit kat candy and getting stuck on the turnstile at the World of Fun in Kansas City.
