Obituary
G.A. Schaefer III, 61, of Crystal City entered into rest Mon, Sept 14, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

He was born Oct 27, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, MO, son of the late Gus & Frieda (Boehme) Schaefer, Jr. He and Mary Sue Reiminger were married April 11, 1971 in St Louis, MO

He graduated from Jackson Senior High in 1965, where he played trombone in the marching band and was a member of the drama club.

G.A. went to work for Dow Chemical in 1966 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He and Mary Sue moved to Crystal City in 1977, when the plant transferred to Pevely, MO. G.A. retired in 1997 after 31 years of service.

He was a member of Elks Lodge 1721, Knights of Columbus and Boy Scouts of America for 28 years. He ws the Scoutmaster for Troop 426 in Festus, MO for 6 years and a merit badge counselor.

G.A. and Mary Sue were member of the Mid-South Roadrunners RV Club and enjoyed traveling all over the US including trips to Alaska, Canada and Mexico.

Loving survivors include Mary Sue, his wife of 38 years; two sons: Derek Schaefer of Crystal City and Tyler (Megan) Schaefer of Glasgow, MT; daughter, Dana (Tim) White of Jackson, MO; two grandchildren: Tyson and Kyla White; sister, Jacque Guth of Festus, MO; father-in-law, Raymond Reiminger of Jackson, MO; two sister-in-laws, Lu (Eric) Thompson of Cape Girardeau, MO and Joanie (John) Hendricks of Jackson, MO; three brother-in-laws, David (Fay) Reiminger, Joe (Cindy) Reiminger and Robert ( Debbie) Reiminger all of Jackson, MO; 8 nephews; 6 nieces; 1 great niece; and 5 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a brother-in-law, Vernon Guth.
