Wendell P. Humphres, 69, of Valles Mines, passed away on February 27, 2010 at his home. Born October 9, 1940 in Vina, Alabama; the son of the late Cleve and Nettie (Hamn) Humphres. He is survived by his loving wife, Jetta (Harris) Humphres.

Wendell was a mold maker for Saint-Go-Bin Containers. He was a member of the Steel Workers Union, and President of the Flint Workers Union. He loved working on cars.

Mr. Humphres was the dear father of Phillip (Linda) Humphres, Hillsboro, Robert (Melissa) Humphres, DeSoto and Anthony (Brenna) Humphres of Valles Mines; dear grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Wendell, Crystal, Melissa, Robert, Erich, Ryan, Travis, Austin, Evan, Andy and Alex; dear great-grandfather of nine grandchildren: Dalton, Jacob, Makayla, Brody, Caliegh, Tyler, Layla, Samantha and Miraha; a brother Chester Humphres of Vina, AL and two sisters, Imogene Mc Clain of Birmingham, AL and Esterene Blackburn of Vina, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Arlin Humphres, Roy Humphres, R.C. Humphres and Orville Humphres and a sister, Gladys Powell.
