Obituary
Hassel Lorene (Cates) Elliott, 99, of Park Hills (formerly of DeSoto) entered into rest on July 19,2011 at the Country Meadows Nursing Center in Park Hills, Missouri. She was born May 5, 1912 in Doniphan, Missouri; her parents were the late Thomas and Myrtle (Shoat) Cates. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Elliott.

Mrs. Elliott was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing and being surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Elliott is survived by eight children: Manuel (Debbie) Elliott, St. Clair, James (Nancy) Elliott, St. Louis, Delmar (Priscilla) Elliott, St. Clair, William (Diana) Elliott, St. Clair, Mary (Wayne Berry) Smit, Mt. Vernon, IL, Lillian (Merril) Brown, DeSoto, Brinda (James) Farmer, French Village and Linda (Terry) Toenges, Park Hills; a daughter-in-law, Fran Elliott of Lonedell; 48 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, a son, Earl Elliott, five brothers, Bill Cates, Tom Cates, Joy Cates, Alvin Cates, and Albert Cates; two sisters, Velma Bennett and Avaline Davidson .

Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Patrick Singleton.
