Obituary
Vincent Jude "Fly" Mahn, Age 74, formerly of DeSoto, entered into rest at his home in Sullivan on Friday, August 26, 2011. Vince was born to the late Daniel John Mahn, Sr. and Aurelia Catherine (Prendergast) Mahn on August 7, 1937 in DeSoto, MO. He married his beloved wife, Shirley Ruth (Pierce) Mahn on May 4, 1957 at St. Rose of Lima Church in DeSoto.

Mr. Mahn was a member of the Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department and the Sullivan Fire Department and a member of the Plumber's Local Union #35. He was one of the first EMT's to be certified in Jefferson County, when the ambulance system was operated out of Mahn Funeral Home. He loved St. Louis Cardinal baseball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved to eat candy and cookies while sitting in his "Bark-O-Lounger", but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Ruth Mahn, son: Vincent Jeff (Marianne) Mahn of San Diego, CA, daughters: Janet Mahn and Eva Decker of San Diego, CA, Susan (Andy) Koppelmann of Leslie, MO, and Michelle (Larry Rochoeau)Stubblefield of Sullivan, MO, brother: William (Irmalee) Mahn of DeSoto; sisters: Mary Collins, Ellen Mahn, Margaret Parmeley all of St. Louis, and Patricia (Ralph) Noack of DeSoto; grandchildren; Stephanie (Jim) Bartle and William Floyd Stubblefield of Sullivan and John Henry Koppelmann of Leslie, MO; great-grandchildren; Sophia Raye Bartle, Emilee Bartle and B.J. Bartle; many nieces, nephews, family and close friends.

Family members preceding him in death are his parents, mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Pearl Pierce; four brothers: Ed Mahn, Gerald "Jerry" Mahn, Daniel J. "D.J." Mahn and Robert Mahn; and a sister, Marcia Mahn.

A special message from the family - "We miss and love you very much Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. Sophia said "Love you Papa".

The Service will be officiated by Rev. Jim Owens under the direction of Mahn Funeral Homes.
