Dorothy "Nanny" Walls, 90 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center.
Born November 7, 1920, in Elkton, South Dakota to the late Henry and Elsie (Schamel) Schulte. She was a retired sales representative for Vanity Foot Wear Company. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles G. Walls, who passed away in 1986.
She is survived by her son: Richard (Shannon) Walls Sr of Columbia, MO, daughter: Judy (Bill) Lowe of Festus, MO, brothers: Jack Schulte of Chester, IL and Ed (Dona) Schulte of Little Rock, AR, sister: Maxine (Ray) Wilson of St Louis, MO, 8 grandchildren: Beth Marmon, Mark Lowe, Richard Walls Jr, Russell Walls, Joseph DeGonia, Michael DeGonia Sr, Christopher DeGonia, and Eric DeGonia, 12 great grandchildren: Christopher Marmon, Matthew Lowe, Sarah Lowe, Joyce Walls, Audrey Walls, Stella Walls, Lydia Walls, Luke Walls, Logan Walls, Owen Walls, Michael DeGonia Jr, and Jason DeGonia, and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Janice DeGonia; a grandchild, Mary Elsie DeGonia; three brothers: Calvin, Jip, and Jesse Schulte; and four sisters: Lyndola Hudson, Leona Hoffman, Thelma Stark and Euline Schutte.
She was a life member of the VFW Post #3777 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, loved taking care of her dog, Junior, and was an avid reader and gardener.
